My Awesome Experience on Iron Man 3!
When I was on the set of Iron Man three I was very ecstatic. The night before I was on Iron Man three my mom got a call from the casting agency asking if I was available the next day. My mom said yes, so the next day on January 18, 2013 my mom and I headed to Marvel studios. Once the PA (production assistant) checked us in we headed toward a small set near the edge of the studio. Now, when I go on these jobs I'm not acting in them (which would be nice) but I'm actually doing background work. Background work isn't as big or exciting or acting but it is still pretty cool. Background work is basically where you go behind the actor(s) and fill in the scene to make the movie look as natural as possible. You don't talk when you're background but you help fill in the picture which helps the movie look better. My job on Iron Man three was to sit on a woman's lap who was supposed to be my mom, while I drank Mountain Dew in a bar. We did the same scene over and over again so then the director could see if he liked it or not. Once that was done the PA had us all line up against a wall. While we were waiting we saw Robert Downey Jr. about ten feet in front of us! He was talking to the PA and kept looking over at us. After a few minutes he walked over to us and introduced himself and asked us what our names were then he shook all our hands! It was an awesome surprise and I'll never forget that moment! The rest of the day we basically waited around and ate food until they decided they were done with us. Then we went home and waited for our paychecks. Overall, that's probably one of the best experiences I've ever had on one of these jobs!
